Recognition here comes from the source rather than the pose. Pop! keeps its proportions consistent across an entire category, so an anime lead has to be identified by the details of the design, and Maka has enough of those to land correctly at a glance. Anyone who follows the show will know her before reading the label, which is the test these figures have to pass.
